Season's Greetings from the Chiesi Foundation!
We take the opportunity of the upcoming Christmas holidays, to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
We also want to share a news related to this year: the participation of the Chiesi Foundation to the Exhibition on the value of gratuitousness “Don’t get over it". From October 20th to November 4th 2016, the Exhibition, organized by Censis, has been placed on the floor of the central gallery of the Tiburtina Station in Rome: a decumanus of solidarity, 65 meters long, formed by 100 pictures presented by not-for-profit organizations, associations, foundations, Italian and international companies, which shared their way of experiencing mercy, of taking care of other’s difficulties and of producing social value. The Chiesi Foundation has participated with a picture of a newborn baby, taken at the Saint Camille Hospital in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, one of the first African hospitals with whom the Chiesi Foundation started to collaborate in 2010. To continue to spread its message and value, the Exhibition will be organized also in other Italian cities during 2017. The updates on the next locations will be available on the dedicated website www.misericordia2016.it.
The collaboration of the Chiesi Foundation with the Saint Camille Hospital, together with other two African hospitals in Benin and Burundi, is part of one of the most important programs of the Foundation: the NEST Project – Neonatal Essential Survival Technology. 2016 represented a crucial year for the implementation of the NEST Project, which aims to contribute to improve the quality of neonatal care in the most disadvantaged areas of the world. The partnerships with the hospitals involved have been reinforced and we are proud to announce that in January 2017 the new neonatal care unit at the Saint Camille Hospital will be inaugurated. The works have been entirely funded by the Chiesi Foundation and during the next year we will support the local staff in completing the equipment of the unit and in developing training programs. We are also focused on helping and supporting new hospitals and transferring the NEST Project in new countries. 2017 will be an year full of news, on which we will keep you updated.
We take the chance to thank all the colleagues, partners and friends of the Chiesi Foundation, who have collaborated for the development of the NEST Project and of the other projects and programs of the Chiesi Foundation during this year. The contribution of those who decided to dedicate their time, work and resources to the Foundation is and will remain essential for the next years and for us it is priceless. Once again, thank you very much to continue to believe in the commitment and value of the projects and activities of the Chiesi Foundation.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
