The Guyana Asthma Education and Spirometry Program (GASP)
Chiesi Foundation is pleased to present the report of the 3-years project “Partners in care - Optimizing Asthma & COPD Diagnosis and Chronic Disease Management in Guyana (Sud America)”, supported from 2014 to 2016.
The Guyana Asthma Education and Spirometry Program (GASP), developed with the project, led to the successful development of the first spirometry lab and respiratory education program in Guyana, South America. A Vancouver-based respiratory team has been working to empower local nurses and doctors to perform diagnostic testing for asthma and COPD and to deliver education and self-management skills at Georgetown Public Hospital.
